The "Rota-Loo 101" design incorporates simplicity with functionality whilst still retaining the performance advantages that only a 'batch' system can yield making it the perfect composting toilet system.
The system comprises several light weight interlocking components made from an acid resistant aluminium alloy and heat treated to provide the structural strength needed for the job.
The entire system weighing only 17kg before packing is able to fit into a small box of 0.036m3 making it convenient to ship.
The assembled components resemble a spoked wheel consisting of a 'hub' from which six radial arms and interlocking arcs are fixed. The hub is fitted to a 100mm DWV core filled pipe bedded into the ground. The six interlocking 'arcs' which describe the circumference of the wheel when connected to the radial arms, each pass through the hem of a specially designed bag.

The six interlocking 'arcs' which describe the circumference of the wheel when connected to the radial arms, each pass through the hem of a specially designed bag. These permeable, semi-rigid and triangularly shaped bags hook onto the inside edges of the radial arms. These bags form the container for the compost, which can be sealed via a drawstring and easily removed. When the contents of a full bag is composted it is removed and emptied. The emptied bag can now be re-used.
The remaining superstructure of the toilet facility can be constructed using local materials. The building may only need to be as wide as 1.5 meters and deep enough to provide easy access for the toilet pedestal. The rest of the building is simply a box to house the system. The immediate advantage of this system over most toilet facilities is that the building is only half the size.
